Hotel Artide

The pool’s plastic filter at the bottom was smashed and sharp, and it cut my dad’s foot wide open. There was no lifeguard or visible first aid kit. We also found holes in many restaurant chairs, so it seemed easy to fall through one. The bunk beds felt dangerous, and we had to separate them ourselves. We woke up with swollen bites, were covered in them, and my sister even found a bedbug on her bed the last night. That’s unacceptable in a place meant to be clean. Our shower water was bright yellow, with dirt coming from the shower head, and then the water stopped for two hours. The air conditioning didn’t work either. My dad reported it, but the receptionist said she’d called someone who would come in ten minutes. He never arrived, and I could tell she hadn’t called: she used WhatsApp, there was no call sound, and the screen stayed on the home page. The room phone had been decapitated, and my sister only noticed when she tried to call reception. I have a photo. The TV didn’t work, the blinds were broken, and the shower barely worked. At breakfast, the woman from the office pointed at us, stared and talked about us with the other workers. When my dad noticed, they looked embarrassed and brushed it off with “bonjourno.” That’s pathetic behavior from a hostess. Our room number had also disappeared from the table and was being kept behind the counter, as if the room wasn’t in use. There was no bar, and it was impossible to get drinks outside breakfast. There wasn’t even a toaster. The first night’s food was appalling; we left after the first course because my sister felt so sick. I also had to watch a waitress fill a plate with breakfast sausages and eat them, while waiters on their phones didn’t refill the milk or teaspoons when they ran out. Unsafe and truly unacceptable.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the outdoor pool was a nice extra. It’s a good spot for the beach, with a bus stop right outside for the train station and city center. The rooms could use a revamp, but they were clean and perfectly adequate if you’re on a budget. The bathroom and shower are in the typical Italian style and take a little getting used to, though they work fine. I’d be happy to return.

Good price for a three-star hotel, with the beach only 20 meters away and a great choice for families. The rooms are mediocre, though ours had a sea view, and breakfast was so-so. On the street at the other side of the hotel, you can find everything you need. Recommended.

You get a basic budget hotel for the price, but the breakfast buffet was really nice each morning and the staff were very friendly. The woman at reception especially went out of her way to help us get to the motogp, with lots of useful advice about getting around and places to visit.
