Giovane Italia

The only real plus for us was breakfast. It wasn't especially good, but at this price it was acceptable. We stayed at Giovane Italia with two friends during comics season, and I wouldn't go back. The room was nothing special, though we expected that given the low price. They advertise parking as though they can guarantee it, but they have fewer spaces than the hotel can accommodate. We were also told parking wasn't included in the room price. The street is quite narrow, and a car like a Giulietta barely fits. At first we didn't want to fit it through because of the street, and in the end that concern proved right. It's okay if your expectations are low and you're staying just one night.

We had a terrible stay, suffered through the heat, and won't return. The air conditioning, which costs extra, didn't work. The bathroom was dirty and had no soap. Breakfast was just sweets, with very little choice. Parking is practically nonexistent, and if you need it, they ask you to leave your keys so they can move the car. I don't know how this place got three stars. Terrible service!

We booked a last minute three-day stay for €89 and arrived to find a room I can't even describe. The bathroom was for disabled use, and the blankets smelled like a homeless person had slept there. They moved us to another room, but charged us more, and that one was disgusting too. There was hardly any cleaning, no air conditioning, stained, dirty towels, cockroaches in the room, and strange smells. Absolutely awful. I've seen cleaner hostels and two-star hotels. They don't deserve even half a star. Shame!

The air conditioning wasn't working because it was set to shut off when it got too cold. For €30 it was just a place to sleep, breakfast cost another €10, and air conditioning was €5, so €45 in all. Honestly, even €20 would have been too much. If only I'd kept my money and gone to Mirabilandia. There weren't even mosquito screens, so with the window open to get some air, everything but air comes into the room. The towels were stained and there was no soap. No comment.
