Hotel Caesar

What keeps bringing me back to the Caesar Hotel is how kind and helpful the managers and staff are. First it was Mr. Sante and his wife, then his daughter Silvia, and now his granddaughter Barbara. They make you feel right at home. I've spent my summer holidays in Rimini and stayed here for over thirty years. It's a simple hotel, but it has every comfort, and every room faces the sea. I usually bring my dogs, Amstaffs, and they've always met my needs. The food is excellent. It's my favorite place in Romagna!

The hotel has a warm, family feel, sits right on the beachfront, and serves authentic food without elaborate presentation. Its location is its biggest strength: it's in central Rimini, with the beach directly opposite and access to the new promenade. The port is 2 km away, and the historic center is 1 km away, with a bus stop just 30 meters from the hotel. Parking is available on site or in a fenced lot 600 meters away. The building isn't modern and definitely needs renovation, but the lobby and rooms were impeccably clean. Staff were friendly, polite, always smiling, and happy to accommodate us. Breakfast was a generous sweet and savory buffet with juices, yogurt, and an automatic coffee and cappuccino machine. At lunch and dinner, there was a large buffet of vegetables, mini pizzas, focaccia, and more. The wait staff served a first course, second course, dessert, or fruit, depending on what you chose from the menu.

We stayed at the Caesar Hotel with family and friends at the end of July, but left after three days. I'd booked ten days, then realized as soon as we arrived that the quality didn't come close to other hotels in the area at the same price. We asked to leave on the first day, but the owner said she'd charge us for the first three nights anyway, so we stayed those days. The food made us decide to go. It was extremely low quality, and some dishes looked so unappetizing they left us hungry just looking at them. Drinks were self-service, so each time we had to get up, queue for the jugs, and refill one at a time. For the second courses, waiters put a tray in the middle of the table for everyone to take a portion. Our room and our friends' room had bathrooms with no window or vent, and the towels felt like sandpaper. They were hung out on the hotel roof to dry in the sun, which made them very rough. Ms. Barbara was truly rude and played little pranks on us that showed a lack of professionalism. When we checked the bill, we found that both our group and our friends had paid more. When we called to ask, she said we could come back to get the money back. Since you were so eager to know which hotel we moved to, I'll reassure you: we stayed in Riccione and had a wonderful time.

We happened to arrive in Rimini without a booking, spotted the hotel across the street, and asked if there was a room. We got lucky: the room was decent for a three-star hotel and came with parking. The staff were VERY friendly, and the sea view from the balcony was superb. Breakfast was average, but not bad overall.
