Hotel Capitol

I’ve traveled through lots of countries and stayed in all kinds of hotels, but Rimini still feels special to me. My first visit was in 1989, and I kept stopping here over the years. In 2025 I found the splendid Capitol, and I can’t think of a better spot on the beach. Never too late, right? The people and family here are exquisite. Once you leave, who wants to go anywhere else? See you in July!

The sea view and excellent location stood out, and breakfast was generous. The staff were very kind too. The hotel itself could use a little renovation.

I chose Capitol for its position right by the beach, with no road to cross, and the price was extremely good. The private parking costs 3 euros a day, and from there you open the gate straight onto Miramare’s pedestrian promenade, with the beach only a few metres away. You can see it from the balcony of almost every room. I’ll come back. My room was clean and the staff were very courteous. Breakfast was good for a 2-star hotel: branded rusks and fruit juices, croissants, bread, butter, jam, honey, cheese and ham for toast, yogurt, and some fruit. The rooms also have a balcony or terrace, air conditioning, a safe, and a TV, which I like. The air conditioning worked very well. The TV was a classic 90s Mivar with a decoder, at least in my room. The hotel looks much the same as when it was built, probably around 1970, except for the renovated restaurant and the air conditioning and TV added to the rooms. The furnishings were still the same in my room, though I only stayed once and don’t know if they’re all alike. The tight space, especially in the bathroom, is the biggest drawback. There’s no shower tray, just a drain in the floor between the toilet and bidet. The nearby hotels cost two or three times as much, and there’s a reason for that.

The sea is very close, just across the promenade to reach the beach facilities, and watching the sun rise over the Adriatic from a sea-view room was beautiful. I stayed with my family in 2016, 2019, and 2021, and I’m planning to return this year. Mr. Paolo, the owner, and the whole management team are so kind, helpful, and welcoming. The place feels comfortable and homely. It’s well organized, clean, orderly, peaceful, and comfortable, with excellent food. And the price is truly excellent too. Stefano.
