Hotel Santini

The hotel employees were very accommodating and helpful. Check-in was slow and not very straightforward, since they needed to keep my ID for days. Check-out time was flexible. Breakfast could probably be better.

They told us on arrival that burst pipes meant we couldn't stay. But after questioning reception, someone in our group checked the room and saw no damage. We think we'd been double-booked and were lied to about the reason. We couldn't speak with the manager. They moved us to their sister hostel for the same price, but it wasn't as good, and booking it online costs 30% less. A lying, cheating scam. Don't use this hostel.

The excursions were organized wonderfully by Michaela, and Andreas, our bus driver, was very competent. The hotel, though, was a disaster, and I can confirm the negative reviews. Our room was awful and cold, and the mattress felt damp. The food tasted good, but there was never enough. Silvia, the manager, said during her introduction not to pile our plates too high. After the first dinner we had to, because the food was gone within fifteen minutes. I woke up hungry after the second evening. The cask wine ran out on the third day and wasn't replenished, and the red wine did the same the following day, so we had to buy a bottle. If we travel with Trendtours again, we'll first ask which hotel we'll be staying at.

The hotel is a little dated, but that hardly matters when the staff feel more like friends than hoteliers. Orietta is fantastic, the food she makes is wonderful, and the rooms are always perfect. My boyfriend and I can't wait to come back. Sincere compliments to everyone. See you soon!
