Hotel Villa Maris

The rooms and bathrooms are on the small side, but there’s a large balcony, and the location is great. You can borrow a book for free or take a bike into the city center, which is only 15 minutes away. Breakfast was a highlight, with organic products and cakes the owner Petra bakes herself. It’s a lovely family-run hotel, and you can feel that family touch throughout. Maria, the grandmother, also runs a homemade tagliatelle with ragù course. I had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back. Grazie Petra and the family❤️

The cooking class with la nonna Maria was the highlight of our time in Rimini so far. My wife, our two kids and I joined at Villa Maris, Rimini, and the whole family welcomed us warmly. A friend of the family helped translate. We sat down together at the big table to eat our tagliatelle al ragù, and it was delicious, especially with Maria’s ragù. My youngest went back for several plates. We finished with espresso and dolce. Maria showed us how to make the pasta with a mix of top-chef know-how and a grandmother’s warmth. We kneaded the dough, had some tasty appetizers while it rested, then cut it into tagliatelle. Mine came out more like papardelle because I made it too thick, so I’ve still got some learning to do. We also got a look into the kitchen, the heart of Romagnan cooking. The grandson let me taste the ragù Maria had started simmering four hours earlier. A real treat. If you want an authentic Romagnan cooking experience with a family, take Maria’s class. Basta!

At breakfast, I got to talk with locals over a really wholesome meal. Mattia and Petra made me feel welcome and part of that genuine “dolce far niente” feeling. I’ll recommend Villa Maris and I’m sure I’ll be back.
