Dependance Hotel Villa Merope

We’d give Villa Meroppe 7 out of 10. It’s a budget, economy-class hotel with a good price-quality balance if you can live with a few drawbacks. The staff were accommodating, nice, and helpful. Our room was cleaned daily, and the towels were changed every day. The sea and nightlife are very close, with an ice cream shop just 50 meters away. The city center is farther but still walkable, and there are food and other shops nearby. Breakfast was filling and enough, but the hot menu was the same every day. There was tea only once during our five days. It could use updated photos, too. You can hear everything through the walls, even doors slamming. The bathroom was tiny and hot, the shower opening was blocked, and it took ten minutes for hot water to come through. August 2024.

I never stayed at the hotel, but they initially charged me the full amount as a cancellation fee just because they had my card details. There was no proper communication or consideration. When I called to sort it out, the receptionist was extremely rude and yelled at me. After a lot of stressful back and forth, they eventually lowered the fee to 30%, but only after unnecessary arguments. The whole thing was deeply unprofessional. Hotels should look after their guests, not treat them disrespectfully or take advantage of them. I don’t recommend this place. Management should take serious steps to improve customer service and staff behavior.

The rooms have what you need, including a fridge, air conditioning, a small balcony, and a TV. The furniture is dated, and the beds were a bit noisy when closing the room doors. Still, for the location and price, it’s a really good choice. The staff were lovely and helpful, breakfast was great, and it’s very close to the beach and restaurants. Good value for money, and I’ll definitely go back.

A clean, nice villa with friendly staff and very good breakfast. The rooms are small, and the bathroom is tiny too, with the shower tucked into the only free space behind a curtain. If that doesn’t bother you, it’s a perfect place to stay. Prices are cheap, the people are very nice, and the beach is just 50m away.
