Residence Costablu

The only real plus was how close the residence was to the sea. We stayed in room 310 for a weekend in mid-July, and it wasn’t a good experience. Our parking space wasn’t available when we arrived. After we’d paid, we were told the air conditioning didn’t work, with no refund offered. The room felt very dated. The windows wouldn’t shut properly, the chairs were rusty, and both the kitchen doors and shower stall were partly broken. We won’t be coming back.

Everything we needed was at hand: the beach was 50 meters away, Crai was close for quick shopping, and there was a pharmacy just 10 meters away, along with a tobacconist and other shops. The house was clean and equipped, and the place was quiet and peaceful. I spent 15 days there with my family and we had a lovely time. Our huge terrace was perfect for eating outside each evening. The cleaning lady was always kind, and we were given fresh sheet changes and as many towels as I wanted.

The location was very good, the staff were friendly, and the air conditioning worked, though it was really noisy. The main problem at first was that room 208 wasn’t clean, so we had to do the cleaning ourselves. In the kitchen, all the windows were broken and didn’t shut properly. The sofa bed was very old, and I assume its mattress was too. There was no sound insulation in the apartment, and the stairwell sometimes smelled bad. Parking was also difficult. You might find a space on the nearby streets, but sometimes it took a lot of effort.

I couldn’t work out how a family like ours, with two children aged 16 and 17, would fit in one bed and one sofa bed. The website says the apartment suits four people, but that setup didn’t seem workable to me.
