Tamanco

The price we paid matched what little we got, so that’s why I’d give it three stars. The room was old and basic, though okay, and the whole place felt like stepping back into the 80s, from the decor and furniture to the food. The meals were the main letdown. It was the sort of standard hotel food that felt dated, and even though they were included, I didn’t feel like eating there. The coffee was awful, zero stars, and seemed to reflect the lack of attention to detail I noticed around the hotel.

The one nice moment was the cleaning lady playing pleasant music for us. The rest of the staff were uncooperative, unfriendly, rude, and unprofessional, and the rooms had very poor ventilation. We were on our last school trip and were very disappointed by the food. Four of us barely got half a kilo of pasta, and the meat wasn’t cooked enough. When we were quietly drinking beer together, the receptionist laughed at us in what felt like a malicious way and threatened to call the police for no reason.

There were no blankets in our room. We went to reception and reported it politely, but the receptionist accused us of lying and made no effort to fix it.

The cleaning lady was extremely nice, though the rest of the staff came across as odd and clearly unhappy to have us there. The food was great, and our room was clean and pretty decent.
