The location worked well for restaurants and nightlife, with lots of places within walking distance. The lower floors can be noisy, though. I was moved from the noisy first-floor room, where I could hear what sounded like a bar below, to a much quieter room on the fourth floor. The internet there was poor and made it hard to stay connected. I liked dinner overall, congratulations to the chef. One evening the food arrived a little cold, but otherwise I was happy with the meals. Breakfast covered the basics, though nothing stood out. The staff were friendly and seemed willing to help, but sometimes forgot things like cutlery or specific orders. They also seemed a bit unprepared when I needed to change my stay arrangements. It gave me the impression there may be gaps in training or management, though that’s only based on my own interactions. I had to report that the air conditioning in my first room wasn’t working, and they fixed it. Both rooms had very small shower stalls, which made showering uncomfortable. The shower heads looked moldy to me, which concerned me from a hygiene standpoint. They were replaced after I raised it, but I felt this shouldn’t have needed to be reported. The pool seemed to be under maintenance, and I hadn’t been told about that when I booked. The hotel offered a beach voucher for one day or use of another hotel’s pool about a 15-minute walk away. I thought that was a reasonable attempt to make up for it, but the lack of advance notice was disappointing. For me, the hotel didn’t meet what I expect from a place advertised as four-star. The staff were pleasant and appeared to try their best, but there were too many maintenance and service problems. I probably wouldn’t return unless I heard that significant improvements had been made to the facilities and service.
