Hotel Bikini

The noise was the worst part. Music and bass from the nightclub nearby went on until 4 a.m. every night, and earplugs and closed windows didn’t help. I could also hear neighbors talking, sneezing, and running water, plus the cleaning staff slamming doors in the corridor from 7 a.m. I complained several times, but the hotel didn’t offer a real solution. It ruined my vacation, and I won’t return. The rooms were tiny and outdated, with nowhere to open a suitcase. The bathroom was awkward too, with no towel hook and the toilet very close to the shower. Breakfast staff were friendly, but the food and dining room felt like a canteen. You had to order drinks through the staff, and sometimes waited 15-20 minutes just for water or coffee. The orange juice was awful. The pool was small and too shallow for a proper swim. I can’t recommend this hotel.

The hotel was clean and close to the public beach, and the staff seemed really nice, especially housekeeping, the two men running breakfast, and the evening desk staff. But the noise made it hard to sleep. We chose Hotel Bikini for its AIC accreditation and location, thinking it was farther from the main restaurant area and would be quieter. Our first-floor “sea view” room was pleasant enough, though you couldn’t actually see the sea from it. Nightclub music went until 4 a.m., then noise from the breakfast area below started at 7. We moved rooms and got earplugs, which helped, but it still wasn’t a relaxing holiday. We were so tired from sleeping badly that we cut back on daytime activities. Breakfast was sufficient, though the gluten-free options could include fresher choices. Friends staying in hotels of a similar standard nearer the busy restaurant area had much quieter rooms. If sleeping well matters to you, this might not be the place. It’s a shame the area is so noisy, because otherwise it’s a nice hotel.

Room 404 had a lovely sea view, and the hotel was very clean. The reception team were friendly and helpful. The location was great, and although I’m a light sleeper and the music was loud, I was fine once the door was shut. I’d expected the noise from earlier reviews, and after a long sunny day and a few aperols, it didn’t stop me sleeping! 😂 I wouldn’t call this a four-star hotel. It’s a great two-star, maybe three. The room was small but fine for four nights, though there was barely any storage, especially in the bathroom. The shower was nice, but its drain grate came loose when stepped on. The cleaner had put the hand soap in the shower and the shower gel by the sink, and since they’re fixed in place, you can’t switch them around. The cleaner seemed a little odd. We know she came in while the no-thank-you sign was on the door, and once she took our v60 coffee filter. I’m sure that was an accident, but it was a nuisance getting it back. The cleaners were also so loud in the morning, constantly slamming doors. Maybe it’s just us, but breakfast wasn’t anything special, just very basic. We saw other tables get omelets and bruschetta, but had no idea those were options. The orange juice tasted like very strong squash and was awful. The pool was smaller in real life than in the photos, had no parasols for shade, and the loungers weren’t very comfortable. Towels were provided, and you could take them to the beach.

The location is a big plus, and we used the free bike rental almost constantly. Our rooms were cleaned daily, reception staff were friendly, and the breakfast men were especially nice. Breakfast was delicious, with extra specials brought to us beyond the buffet, and we always ate our fill. There was party noise from the beach on the weekend, so we barely slept the first night. The next day, the receptionist gave us good earplugs and said they could move us to another room or call the police if it continued. The staff weren’t to blame for the noise. Thanks for a pleasant stay, we’d readily recommend the hotel.
