Abis Dolomites

The rooms were spacious, with a great shower and balcony, and the hotel feels modern and really nice. It’s very dog-friendly, too. We enjoyed the food and the sauna downstairs. I’d only suggest thicker toilet paper and a bit more variety at breakfast and dinner.

We were glad to receive a South Tyrol Mobilcard at the hotel, which lets you use nearby cable cars and local buses and trains free of charge. Valles has a more tourist-oriented feel. The food was delicious, made with quality, healthy ingredients. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including salami, cheeses, fruit, vegetables, jams, spreads and other sides. Coffee from the machine is available around the clock. Dinner is a five-course menu with a choice of meat or vegetable dishes. Kudos to the chef and all the staff. The SPA is open in the afternoon and has Finnish, Turkish and IR saunas, a rest area and an outdoor spot for sunbathing. Tea is provided, and the indoor pool is nicely arranged and open all day, with plenty of room to swim. Our room was large, newly renovated, clean and stylish, with a very comfortable bed, a spacious shower and a big balcony looking out at the mountains. ABIS Dolomites is somewhere we’d happily visit again. We’ve already recommended it to our loved ones, and we want to return ourselves.

The room was comfortable and the wellness facilities were excellent.

We were back at Hotel Abis after a couple of years, and the atmosphere and service were still excellent. The rooms were clean and very nice, the spa was quiet and well equipped, and the ski slope is less than 100 meters away. Meals are served at the neighboring Hotel Valzerhof. The breakfast buffet was generous and high quality, and so was the five-course dinner. The Friday night dessert buffet was delicious, compliments to the chef. My one real gripe is the water at dinner. It costs €3.40 per liter, and there’s no option to ask for tap water, even though the water in Trentino is so good. With the hotel’s quality and its “green” approach, and free herbal tea, coffee, cappuccinos and other drinks available throughout the day, charging for water feels inconsistent with what many hotels are doing, where tap water is free and offered as a choice. That’s why we gave it 4 stars. Charging for spa slippers instead might be more transparent and sustainable.
