Agriturismo Il Melograno

Chiara looked after us so attentively, from breakfast to keeping our room in order, and was always kind and thoughtful. We also appreciated all the suggestions for things to do. Pino and Marcella made us feel at ease everywhere, in our room and around the property, and we enjoyed two excellent dinners with them. Many thanks for the hospitality.

We first stumbled on Il Melograno a few years ago and were so taken with it that this will be our third visit. The food has that Sunday-at-grandma's feel, with fresh fish, wine, and everyone gathered around good company. It's a lovely way to get a taste of Sardinian flavors, scents, and hospitality. Everything is very clean, it's wonderfully quiet, and the beaches are close. Can't wait to come back.

The garden is really cozy, and the breakfast room has a lot of charm. Breakfast itself was a nicely prepared Italian one. The rooms are simple, pretty, and very well kept. It felt more like a B&B to us than an agriturismo. We couldn't have dinner there: it needed to be booked ahead, and when we asked, dinner was private that night. The arrangements didn't seem very clear.

We were nine friends and paid €27 for the set menu, but the portions were poor in both quality and quantity, from the appetizers through the first and second courses. I had only 2-3 ravioli for my first course. The wait was excessive too. The purceddu was good, though there wasn't much of it. I paid €30 and left hungry, so for me the price was too high and the dishes weren't satisfying. One star. We won't be back.
