The noise made this stay miserable. Tourists in the bars nearby stayed out late drinking and shouting, then sanitation workers came early to clear away the bottles. We barely got three hours of sleep a night. I saw no sign of the authorities checking on any of it, and it's surprising that Riomaggiore, a town proud of its UNESCO World Heritage status, doesn't do more to encourage smarter, more sustainable tourism. The apartment itself was clean and nicely placed right in the center. But the bedroom with two beds has no window, and with no air conditioning in the apartment, that room was a nightmare. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone hoping to relax.

Happy Easter! We stayed on the third floor, and the apartment was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. Paul couldn't meet us when we arrived, but the directions were easy to follow. We're looking forward to exploring Riomaggiore and the other towns. One room faces the road, so voices carry and it gets loud when people are out enjoying themselves. Bring earplugs if you want to sleep. The kids were in the room farther inside and slept like rocks without hearing a thing.

Paolo was so helpful and always ready with tips about places to visit. The apartment was lovely and, above all, very clean. Getting up to the third floor on those steep, quick stairs wasn't easy, but that's part of staying here. We had a really positive family holiday in this unique part of the world, and I hope we can come back soon.
