Il Cigliere Wellness Spa Resort

The room was unbearably hot. It was 31 degrees at night, and even with the window open the lowest we saw by morning was 26, with most of the night above 29. Mosquitoes and noisy frogs came in, and sleeping was really difficult. The manager had first said she’d sort out the temperature, then left for the evening. The receptionist said he didn’t have her number. Later, the restaurant owner, who knew her, called her for us. She said she wouldn’t turn on the air conditioning because the next day was meant to be cooler and told us to open the window, even though she’d earlier promised to fix it. There was also confusion about the spa. Before we arrived, the manager called to say we’d get a room upgrade that included spa access, which normally costs 24€, so we were looking forward to relaxing. In the morning, she said the spa wasn’t included and avoided taking responsibility for the night before. We’d since seen other reviews mentioning room temperature problems and extra spa costs, so none of this surprised us. It could have been a very nice place to stay, and I’m not demanding, but this was an unpleasant stay and the manager lied to our faces. Avoid at all costs!

We spent four nights at this beautiful resort, from September 12 to 16, 2024. The rooms were great, breakfast was included and very good, and the location was excellent. The staff were friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

We loved the pool and the atmosphere around this beautiful resort, and the spa was amazing. My wife and I both had massages, and mine was one of the best I’ve ever had. Our room was ready at 12:30pm, three hours before the stated 3:30pm check-in. The receptionist was very professional and polite, and showed us around. We’ll definitely come back. We need more places like this in Toscana.

Such a quiet, beautiful place, and more of a wellness resort than just a hotel, as the name suggests. The staff and service were the friendliest I’ve come across in Italy. I wish we’d booked more days.
