Marco, who runs the place, was always helpful, and he also sold good light wine and olive oil. The whole property was well preserved, though the furniture was older. There’s no air conditioning, and in July the bedrooms in the attic got really hot. The mosquitoes were a nuisance, so we needed to prepare to take them on. The biggest issue was the bathrooms: shower water drained slowly, leaving a pool on the floor after each shower that had to be mopped up. Kitchen equipment was adequate but not perfect, with a gas stove and no oven. The house is reachable only by car, and it’s about 20 minutes from the beaches in Cecina. We had the whole house for our group of five adults and five children over 14 days. The rooms were spacious and had nice views, and one had a roomy terrace. Outside, there was a covered seating area, a grill, a pool with loungers around it, a large garden, and plenty of parking. The drive up was fine in our raised car, though otherwise I’d have worried about occasionally scraping the chassis. The views across the surrounding area were amazing. With two families, we appreciated having two kitchens and two bathrooms.
