Antiche Mura

The rooms were bright and clean, and breakfast was delicious. There was a good choice of sweet items, plus savory food if you asked.

The four-course meal was a highlight at Ristorante Antiche Mura. We especially enjoyed the pasta and seafood, and every dish we tried was full of flavor and nicely presented. The place combines historic architecture with a cozy feel. The menu has plenty of traditional Italian dishes made with fresh, quality ingredients, and the friendly, attentive staff made the visit memorable. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Italian meal.

We’ve stayed here on two vacations. It’s tucked away from the busy area, but the bus stop is an easy walk away. The rooms are modern and very clean, and breakfast is absolutely wonderful. You can rent bikes right across the street, and the harbor and pedestrian street are very close.

For what we paid for the “chalet,” I think we overpaid. We’d booked it for one night while traveling from Gardaland to Bolzano. The bathroom window had been left open, so the room was full of mosquitoes. Once we shut it and killed as many as we could, a horrible sewage smell started coming through. We had to choose between sleeping with the bugs or closing the bathroom door and hoping the smell wouldn’t reach the bedroom. We chose the door. The chalet has a large room, but the AC was dodgy and ineffective. There were no coffee-making facilities, the sofa bed was crooked, and the TV/monitor was only 21". Parking cost an extra €10, which I didn’t mind since it was a locked garage. Reception was closed at 5pm, so we couldn’t tell anyone about the room problems. Breakfast was okay. I definitely wouldn’t stay again.
