A very quiet area, up the hill before Lake Garda, and not far by bike. It’s outside the center of Riva del Garda, so check mobility options if you need to get to the lake. The price was okay, a little high, but it was high season.

Hotel Alberello is clean and tastefully furnished, about 2.5 km from the shore of Lake Garda. Buses run hourly during the day. It works especially well as a base for exploring the region, and has a good bar and serves food on a board basis. The staff are helpful and friendly.

There’s a nice pool, but the main road runs right in front of the rooms and the traffic noise carries on all night. If you want to sleep, don’t go here. That week felt like torture, and now I need a vacation.

Great views of the mountains, good food and service, and the hotel was fab, clean and tidy.
