We stayed five nights while visiting Riva del Garda, and it was a really bad experience. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for families or couples. The room wasn’t cleaned properly each day, and tea and coffee weren’t replenished. The bottom of the toddler pool had dirt built up and clearly hadn’t been cleaned well for a while. My husband got a large splinter from the wooden balcony decking. They said the air conditioning wasn’t switched on because it wasn’t high season, so the room was extremely stuffy at night. Worst of all, our double bed was two single beds pushed together with a sheet over them, but they didn’t provide a double duvet. Reception staff weren’t always there, and when they were, they weren’t friendly or helpful. The one lift was slow, the towels were extremely poor quality, and we weren’t given pool towels. For the extortionate price, it wasn’t worth it. This hotel isn’t worth four stars, more like two, and I wouldn’t recommend it for comfort or accessibility.

There were construction works during our stay and no one had told us. The wellness area had several facilities that weren’t working, there was a power outage, and the shower shampoo wasn’t replenished. You can hear every footstep from the guest above, and there’s a gap even when the terrace door is shut, as shown in the picture. The neighbors can see the bed unless the curtains stay fully closed. Don’t book this hotel. It was downright bad.

My stay at Garda Sporting Club Hotel was disappointing. The radiator had problems and wasn’t fixed until the next day. Later, all the AC units stopped working overnight, and there wasn’t a technician available. I called customer service too, but got no help. That level of service isn’t acceptable for a hotel of this standard.

The room felt uncomfortable throughout our stay. It was very hot, and none of the air conditioning units worked. I had asked for a double bed, but got two singles pushed together instead; the gap between them caused discomfort and back pain. The balcony also meant there was no privacy.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with plenty to choose from and food cooked fresh to order. The staff were wonderfully helpful, and there are nice indoor and outdoor pools. It’s only a short drive into town to see the lake. Highly recommended.
