Clean, spacious rooms and a great location with excellent views. The staff were friendly and attentive, and I had a great experience.

The room faced the back and was quiet, with good water pressure in the shower. It was simple but comfortable, fully renovated, and the hotel was clean and well maintained. The staff were warm and welcoming. The ferry station was only a short walk away, making it easy to explore the lake and nearby towns. The area felt peaceful, with restaurants and shops still close by. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, with lots of options from 7:30am. Parking was convenient and reasonably priced for the area at 10 euros a day, though a short walk from the hotel. It's not luxury, but it has what you need for a comfortable stay at Lake Garda and is great value.

The only thing we really missed was a fridge in our room. It was hot while we were there, so one would have been useful. Even so, we'd certainly return, and I'd recommend getting a lake view room. Hotel Centrale is ideally placed in Riva del Garda. The ferry station is a two-minute walk away for trips around the lake, and there's free entertainment in the square every evening. The food is very good quality, well cooked and presented. The really friendly staff are what make the hotel, working so efficiently.

The buffet breakfast is amazing, with plenty on offer, and the evening meals have lots of choice too. The food is typical Italian fare, pasta, pizza, steak and fish, so don't expect pie and chips. During our 14 day stay, we had just one bad dish, a tough, stringy steak. That's the nature of meat, you don't always get a great steak. Otherwise meals came hot and quickly, always with a smile. Oleg, Adam and the other servers were attentive and couldn't do enough for us. The house wine is smooth and great value, and comes in quarter, half and 1 litre carafes. The rooms are clean and spacious, with big showers. There's no tea or coffee setup, so we brought a travel kettle, cups and supplies. A small fridge in the room kept our milk and water fresh. Beds are firm, there's plenty of room for clothes with hanging space, drawers that close softly and coat hooks. Housekeeping made the beds and brought clean towels each day. The only letdown was no information pack, so for a launderette or bus information, Google is your friend. The location is great for watching the boats come and go.
