Hotel Gabry

The location is great, and the rooms are reasonably good. The receptionists were nice and helpful. There’s no laundry service, and you have to carry your own bags when leaving, which isn’t great. Late at night, only one person is available to help. It felt more like a small family-run hotel than a professional one.

The breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had, even though the lobby and rooms weren’t especially luxurious. The hotel has a pool, the balcony had a beautiful view, and parking was included. Staff were friendly and brought us focaccia and a welcome drink of our choice. We picked Aperol 😋.

The hotel is family run and has a lovely planted garden that makes it feel tucked away, even though there are other hotels nearby. It’s about five minutes on foot from the lake, and around 25 minutes through the lakeside park to the old town. That location suited us perfectly. Breakfast is very good, with vegan options, and the spa is reasonably priced. Rooms are a little dated but comfortable and very clean. There’s a bar, but no dinner service. The hotel also offers free yoga lessons. My wife said the class was very good and suitable for beginners.

The location worked really well, with walks along the lake in either direction and a good place to set off for hikes. The room had a nice balcony and the basics we needed for the price. The staff were excellent and handled our dietary needs well. We let them know a few days ahead, and they put together a great range of plant-based foods for breakfast. It lasted a long time too, which suited both early and late starts. Vegan breakfast! One of my favourite hotel stays. Thanks, Gabry, we hope to stay again!
