The restaurant was the standout for me. The food felt rooted in tradition but had creative, modern touches, and every dish I tried was full of flavor and beautifully served. Service was just as good, warm and attentive throughout. I also really enjoyed the breakfast, especially the cake and fresh fruit, with plenty of other tasty choices. The room wasn't especially modern, but it was clean, cozy, and comfortable. The shower was a bit small 😉, and the street outside was somewhat noisy. The person looking after the albergo and restaurant was incredibly welcoming and made me feel cared for right away. I'd happily return, and if you're nearby and want a great meal, this is a place to try.

The owner took us through his private wine cellar, which was the highlight of the visit. His Italian and international wine collection is impressive, and there's also a private section devoted to his much-loved whisky collection. We came for a hosted dinner and tour of the property. Dinner was very good with local wines, and the service was warm and attentive. It's a high price, but still felt like good value. This is the area's oldest restaurant, established in 1912.

Dinner was enjoyable, with well-prepared local dishes alongside a little innovation, and the staff got everything out quickly. Breakfast had a range of choices, though it fell quite a bit short of lunch and dinner. The rooms are basic but fairly comfortable and usually quiet, although you can hear the neighbors. A fine place to eat and stay while in the Oltrepò Pavese region.

The owner is very kind and knows a lot about cooking with native edible plants. An elegant, refined place in Rivanazzano, in the Oltrepò (apennine).
