Hotel Garden

Don’t come here! There’s no bar, and the room doesn’t have a TV.

This place barely offers the basics, and I wouldn’t book it again. The photos and reviews made it look decent, but buyer beware. I’m not picky, but basic amenities matter. Staff control the A/C and say you can adjust it, but that isn’t true. They keep it at 25.5C or 78F. There’s no vending machine, no room fridge, and no microwave or kettle for making tea. Staff aren’t available late at night. It’s too far to walk anywhere. A taxi to the nearest Autogrill costs 35€ each way for a 12-minute ride. The shower and sink hot water barely gets beyond warm. The mattresses feel like cheap bulk buys, and the full-size bed is two twin mattresses pushed together. I like European-style mattresses, but this one is junk. My RV has a better mattress.

The receptionist and owner were professional, kind, and helpful. The rooms are new or recently renovated, and breakfast has plenty of choice, including excellent coffee. Hotel Garden is just outside Rivoli and is mostly used by business guests or people passing through, but it was a real surprise. Its location is the one drawback. In the center of Rivoli, it could easily be a four-star hotel. Congratulations.

The hotel is in a prime spot, between the city and countryside. From outside it looks overly simple, almost lower-class, but once you step in, it feels like a first-class building. Every member of staff treats you as if you’re the only important person there. I highly recommend it.
