I ended up stopping here for lunch while passing through, and was the only customer, with what looked like about eight staff around. The bar guy checked whether the kitchen was open after I asked, then they got me fed once that was sorted. The food was tasty, and I’d recommend the traditional grilled cheese. The side salad could use a little more to it, though. It was just lettuce and tomatoes with oil, and a couple of extra ingredients or topping choices would make a difference.

I can only speak to the restaurant, which welcomes people who aren’t staying at the hotel too. Dinner was good value, with fair prices below the current average, and the food was excellent. The staff were friendly and polite. Just don’t arrive too late, or the kitchen might be closed 😜.

I had a relaxing stay on my first visit here. The food and service were excellent, and the staff were so friendly it felt like being with family. Thanks for a lovely holiday. If all goes well, I’ll be back next year.

We ate here on 31/12/24, and I’m sorry to say I feel this review is deserved, even though I rarely write them. The place wasn’t crowded, so the rush of a busy restaurant can’t really explain it. The starters were acceptable, but the artichoke pasta dish had so much pasta that it covered the flavor of the filling. The green gnocchi with liquid cream were bland and didn’t hold together. The pork fillet looked dry when it was served to the people next to us, and tasted just as dry when we tried it. The dishes were basic, but even so, they shouldn’t have been cooked this badly. Someone had recommended the place, but I’m afraid it didn’t live up to that. One star feels like more than it deserves.
