The village was quiet and charming, and by car it was close to everything. We stayed a few years ago, I think in 2022, for a skiing holiday. The owners were very kind, and we got by using a mix of English and Italian. Our apartment had two separate bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and free parking. From the balcony we could see in two cardinal directions, with several beautiful mountains in view. Malga Ciapela, the starting point for getting to Terazza Marmolada, was just under 5 km away. We paid 100 € per night for three adults.

The excellent shower and well-equipped kitchen made the apartment at Ciesa Padon comfortable for the three of us. We really enjoyed staying there, especially coming back after a long day walking and doing via ferrata.

I had a wonderful time here on a climbing trip. It's a beautiful place to stay near a cozy town, and the host was friendly and made my friends and me feel welcome.

The owners are lovely and helpful, and the place was very clean. A few things did get frustrating during our stay. The bathroom has no ventilation, so moisture only clears if you leave the window open, which isn't really an option in winter. Hot water was unreliable, sometimes there and sometimes not, which was frustrating when we got back cold after skiing all day. The heating controls in the rooms didn't seem to do anything, presumably because the owners control it. It was off during the day and only started around 7pm, so if we came back earlier after being out in the mountains, we had to wait for heat.

The apartment was clean, well appointed, and good value, even if it wasn't fancy. I'd recommend Padon if you're looking for somewhere in the area. The street number 8 could be easier to see from the street for new arrivals, though it is right beside number 9.
