Appartamenti Chalet al Lago

The apartment, called Marmolada, seemed poorly maintained, and we were very disappointed with it. Ants were all over the kitchen area, so we couldn’t leave any of our groceries on the counter. The stove light was out, one bulb above the bathroom sink had burned out, and the towel warmer didn’t work, with loose control knobs. The shower drain was so slow that the basin filled after four or five minutes, and we had to turn off the water to stop it overflowing onto the floor. The view also didn’t match what was advertised. The only window and balcony door faced the parking lot and a woodshed near the end of the lake, so we couldn’t see the town across the lake. Getting in was a poor experience too. Nobody was at the “office,” and the phone numbers posted in the window didn’t work. Luckily, someone from a neighboring business called Sylvia for us, and she arrived a few minutes later. I wouldn’t recommend renting this apartment. Photos can be provided.

We stayed three nights in late October 2024, four of us in Apartment Palemo, and drove there ourselves. The balcony and windows looked out over a gorgeous lake, and it was lovely to watch the view change through the day. The rooms were small but cozy and quiet, and both they and the kitchen were very clean. The kitchen was well equipped, and there was a terrace too. The AI and human customer service on WhatsApp were both helpful, and the gardener and staff were very friendly. We had a great stay and hope to come back.

There’s plenty of parking, and it’s peaceful here. The view is amazing whatever the season.

The chalet sits right by Alleghe lake, near the ski resort, with an awesome view over Civetta. It’s a beautiful place, and Pietro was a warm, positive, experienced host who communicated well. I didn’t actually stay in the chalet, but Pietro let me park my campervan in its lot and camp there for a few days before my hike on the Civetta great traverse. Thanks so much, Pietro!
