Masseria Acque Di Palermo

We only had a short time there, which was a shame. Emanuela made us feel so welcome, and the traditional food, served in the splendid shared kitchen, was wonderful. We ended up chatting in the comfortable living room and left with that warmth and hospitality still in our hearts. This ancient masseria has been an agricultural hub since 1948, but its welcome for travelers is just as memorable. A lovely stop on our journey through inland Sicily, where time seems to slow down.

We had excellent dinners made with local products, served in a refined but welcoming setting. The rooms were clean, quiet, and spacious, with kitchenettes, and the authentic farmhouse atmosphere made the stay feel special. With a pool looking over the valley, it would work well for a longer stay too. Genuine hospitality in the Sicilian countryside.

We paid 30 euros each, then left feeling we would have been better off with a beer and a sandwich. There were 130 of us at a motorcycle event on Sunday, and the food was a letdown from start to finish. At first, they offered only a couple of jugs of water for everyone. After about half an hour, they put out just three small tables and some focaccia. I'm intolerant to cheese, so I took a piece of the cheese-free sfincione, but with so little available even the "omnivores" grabbed it. There was watered-down wine too. The first course disappointed even more: pasta with pesto or pasta with tomato sauce, which was as watered down as the wine. Dessert was two tiny cannoli, followed by coffee, then we left. We tried to enjoy the company while waiting, but the meal didn't feel worth what we paid.

The outdoor setting was lovely, with centuries-old olive trees, Mediterranean scents, and a pool that made it easy to unwind. The staff were friendly, attentive, and ready to help with a smile. Inside, the spacious rooms were carefully kept and furnished with a mix of tradition and modern comfort. We felt welcomed and pampered in the peaceful countryside, and the fresh local ingredients made the cuisine a standout, with authentic dishes bringing out the flavors of Puglia (or Sicily, if you prefer). It's a relaxing place for anyone wanting a rooted local experience, and a little corner of paradise we won't forget.
