La Locanda Del Castello

Right at the foot of Roccasecca castle, this magical place has both a restaurant and a hotel. The hospitality, food, beer, and wine were all great!

Just perfect.

A beautiful stone building with a lovely view and relaxing little corners. You can feel the passion and care that go into this place, and it deserves to be appreciated for its authenticity and the attention guests receive. The family running it were fantastic, warm and welcoming, always seeming to know what you might need. The food was excellent, especially the fabulous desserts. The owner's father even let us try vegetables from his garden, and they were delicious. We had a really relaxing stay.

I didn’t get to try dinner this time, though the aromas and menu were very tempting, so I hope to return and make up for that soon. The hotel itself is small, comfortable, clean, and quiet, with delicious homemade desserts at breakfast. The terrace has a spectacular view at any hour, whether you’re having breakfast or an aperitif, and it could also suit a classy private event. The staff were friendly, polite, discreet, and very efficient. The manager is a fantastic person who clearly puts passion and commitment into the work. The setting is splendid, and the area has magical trails and places for trekking, including castles and sanctuaries on the mountaintops. Roccasecca also hosts a major music festival dedicated to the celebrated flutist Severino Gazzelloni. That’s another reason to visit for music, good food and wine, and a lovely place to stay.
