Agriturismo Tenuta di Montemassi La Fattoria

Our stay was the highlight of a six-day holiday in Tuscany. Montemassi is such a beautiful, charming village, and the hotel is gorgeous. Our room had amazing views, and breakfast on the terrace looking out over the hills and olive trees was lovely. Check-in was easy, and Cristina gave us a warm welcome. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed the stay and those beautiful views down over the valley. If you want somewhere with a slower pace and less bustle, I'd definitely recommend it.

The peaceful countryside around Tenuta di Montemassi made it an easy place to unwind. We woke up to lovely views over the vineyard and hills, and our room had both rustic character and modern comforts. From the moment we arrived, the welcome felt genuinely warm, like we were guests they were glad to have. Breakfast was a highlight, with delicious farm-fresh food made from local ingredients and tied to the region's cooking traditions. The staff also shared stories about the estate and its history, which gave our stay a deeper connection to the land. Tenuta di Montemassi is a lovely choice for a romantic break, good food, or simply time in nature. We left happy and hoping to return.

I need to write a new review because I can't edit the old one. The owner's response says it all: she attacked me personally instead of addressing the points I made below. Also, not every Google photo shows Fattoria Tenuta, which is a townhouse in Montemassi village. Photos of the farmhouse may instead show one of the Podere properties rented by the same owner. In 2022, it seems the owner changed Fattoria from an apartment to a B&B, which may be a better business for her and perhaps a better setup too. We'd stayed there loyally for four years, including one week in each of two pandemic summers. We booked directly, stayed seven days at a time, and I thought our loyalty and the fact that they knew we looked after the flat and didn't leave a mess would count for something. But last year we were told the 2022 rates would be 55% higher than our previous deal. With thousands of other places in the area offering more for €100 a night, such as a private balcony or terrace, I decided to book somewhere else for the same budget. The lovely, always-positive Olga had also been replaced by someone more “professional.” The open valley view from every bedroom is the best thing about Fattoria Montemassi. The small pool and working air conditioning in August are also reasons to consider it. But there's no private balcony or terrace for each apartment, and the veranda that used to be shared by all guests seemed in 2022 to be reserved for B&B guests. The pool is tiny and reached by very steep stairs. After 10 years in business, the furniture and facilities such as the bathroom and kitchen could use updating. Parking in the village is difficult in summer because the streets are narrow. I think €120 for B&B is too much when breakfast costs €3 at any bar.
