The villages nearby are charming, with a feeling that time has almost stopped. The property itself is lovely, and the rooms are clean and really nice. Breakfast is hearty, and there’s a well-equipped kitchen where you can cook. The location is beautiful, though the winding drive can seem tricky at first; you get used to it. We stayed last summer and had a great time. The owner is welcoming and helpful, and if she isn’t there, you can just call her. Best wishes to Sara.

We were almost the only guests around during the day, and once night came there was a stillness we weren’t used to. If you enjoy a quiet place, it’s really pleasant up here. The apartment was about 50 square meters, cool and dark, which felt great in the heat, with mountain views right outside. It had a small kitchenette and a fridge, enough to cook spaghetti. There’s a mini-pool in the garden, plus a large shared room with tables, chairs and loungers that you can use. Parking is available, and the hostess is friendly and reachable by phone. Brugnato is about a 15-minute drive for supermarkets, gas stations and restaurants. Levanto by the sea takes around 40 minutes. The winding road up may not suit everyone. We enjoyed our stay and would come back if we’re in the region again.

The owner wasn’t there when we arrived, but everything seemed fine when we first went into the room. After dinner, I found cockroaches on my pillow. While cleaning it, I discovered a huge live scorpion behind it. I was disgusted, and if I hadn’t spotted it, I could have been bitten or stung. I called the owner straight away. She said she didn’t know what to do and couldn’t help, but told us to move rooms. In the other room, there was no private bathroom, only a shared one, and there were more cockroaches and a scorpion behind it. I packed up and left. The owner didn’t want to refund me. Breakfast with a mountain view was wonderful, and the rooms have a charming, modern feel. It’s a good place to unwind. The accommodation is fairly secluded, so I’d recommend coming by car. There’s also a nice bar with good food about a five-minute walk away.
