The shop was fine and the staff were friendly, but we were so disappointed that we cut our stay short and moved to another campsite. I can only speak about the campsite and camper area, not the bathrooms inside the bungalows. The sanitary facilities were disgusting: every other toilet had feces and used toilet paper in it, probably because the flush didn’t work in around 80% of them. Most had no seats, so you had to squat or bring something to sit on. There were no clearly marked camper pitches. Campers and caravans were squeezed very close together, arranged by eye in different directions, with very little privacy. The pools looked nice at first, but up close there was mold, especially in the beach-style section, as well as leaves and hair floating in the water that nobody seemed to clear during the day. You also can’t enter the campsite between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Even if you arrive at 12:30 p.m. and have already picked your pitch, you have to wait until 4 p.m. The sports facilities stay open until 11 p.m., which is great, but the pool closes at 7 p.m. while the pool bar remains open until 11 p.m. I’m surprised cleanliness is hardly mentioned, though perhaps most people use their bungalow bathrooms.

For 250€ a night, we expected a more comfortable and better maintained stay, and we wouldn’t return. The bungalow was much smaller and more cramped than the pictures made it look, with a persistent damp, musty smell that made it hard to relax. There were quite a few mosquitoes and moths, so evenings indoors weren’t as pleasant as we’d hoped. We know insects can come with being in nature, but better sealing or insect prevention in the bungalow would have helped. The site was crowded, with bungalows close together and little privacy. We also ran out of shower soap and never got a response after asking for a replacement. We’d been excited to visit Camping Village Rocchette, but the experience didn’t meet our expectations.

There are pools everywhere, and they’re the main draw. With pools like these, you won’t even care about the beach. Prices for accommodation vary enough to suit different budgets, and the restaurant is fairly priced given the lack of local options.

The pitch, food, and pool were really nice, but the toilets were such a disappointment that I wouldn’t recommend staying here if sanitation matters to you. We booked a minivan pitch for two nights for 104 Euros, the most expensive campsite we stayed at on our holiday, and the website had looked really promising. The private beach nearby belongs to another hotel, though they say guests can use everything there. When we tried to lie down on a sunbed, we were told it cost 30 Euros for a sunbed and umbrella, which was a surprise. The washing, shower, and toilet area was the real disaster. You have to bring your own toilet paper, and the toilets seemed rarely cleaned, with pee and sometimes feces on the toilet ring. The shower room was dark, with only natural light, and had just one tiny hook for hanging clothes. At the campsite restaurant, the staff seemed stressed and fed up with tourists. They practically tossed our food and drinks onto the table as they hurried to the next guests.

The campground is beautiful, and the staff and animation team were very nice. The pool area is also lovely and the kids absolutely loved it, but the music was far too loud and all that Italian pop mainstream got to be too much. You have to pay for a bed there as well. The animation team seemed very inexperienced, like teenagers expected to work from morning until late at night. The beach felt quite far away, and getting a spot there costs a lot. There’s also a huge concrete slab in the ground. I think the price is overrated. The pool area really is worth visiting and the campground itself is pretty, but the downsides outweighed the good parts for us, so we won’t come back.
