The local area is lovely, with pine forests, sandy and rocky beaches, castles, home made ice cream, and tasty italian food. The camping club sits at the end of a 3km street that also leads to other camping areas. The homes and tent and caravan spaces are all in the pine forest, so there’s good shade. Our comfort home was perfect, sufficiently fitted, and had air conditioning. Personnel were very friendly and helpful in every situation. The pool is great for small children and adults who want to relax, but it doesn’t work for juniors or sporty adults since there’s nowhere to dive or swim. Activities have to be booked. That worked fine in principle, but made an impromptu game of ping pong complicated. Almost the whole beach in this area is private, and the camping club doesn’t own one, so you have to squeeze onto the small, rare public beaches or pay for sunbeds and umbrellas at private ones. We don’t recommend breakfast. It was very small, the eggs were always overcooked, and the fruit and vegetable selection was poor.

We stayed at premium slot 33 with two adults and our kids, aged 2 and 4. The spot was handy, close to the toilets and pool, and we liked the atmosphere under the trees, the amazing kids-pool, the delicious restaurant food, and the friendly staff. The bike ride to Castiglione della Pescaia is manageable, with an extra bike lane on the main road, and the town is worth visiting. I’d give five stars if the sanitary facilities were better. The showers are so small you have to undress outside, where anyone walking by can see you, unless you use the combined shower-toilet. It would be good to have toilet seats too, though the toilets are always clean. There isn’t a free beach nearby, and €20 for an umbrella and two sunbeds is quite expensive. Here’s a secret beach: next to the one in front of the camping, there’s a small free beach in front of the restaurant called entcanto white. Their food is worth trying too.

The service desk was staffed by nice ladies, and the shop had lots of good local products. We stayed in a mobile home, which was small but very much ok. In summer, with a gorgeous beach only 5 minuten away, we didn’t miss the extra space. The camping was very clean and had lovely trees and flowers.

This is a small camp with a poorly supplied shop, and I want to warn anyone planning a holiday here, especially if you’ve been to other 4 star camps in Italy or Croatia. The swimming pool isn’t really a pool, since it’s only 15-30cm deep. There’s little playground space, and apart from a tenis court there’s no sport to do except running on a road. There are no seats in the men’s toilets, and the showers have no light, so you wash in the dark. The only beach is a public, overcrowded one. Spend your money better elsewhere.
