De Luxe Plus

Toilets and showers were very clean and got cleaned often, but we didn’t have the best stay. For one night in a two-person tent, we paid about €85, which felt very overpriced. The pool shuts at 7 pm, and using the beach costs extra. Some restaurant staff seemed arrogant, though a couple were really friendly and nice. At reception and elsewhere, some staff seemed disinterested in foreigners, even when we tried our best to speak Italian.

Families with kids would probably like this campsite, and visiting off-season meant it was less crowded everywhere. We had a private bathroom, which was okay, but the showers were barely warm; with a bit of luck they weren’t completely cold. The kids loved the pool, even though the water was already pretty cold. No judgment there. The mosquitoes were the one really bad part. We couldn’t go anywhere without covering ourselves in insect repellent. So annoying.

The beaches are beautiful and the campsite itself is nice, but the rules were so ridiculous that we wouldn’t consider coming back. Check-in and check-out each meant waiting at least half an hour, along with lots of unnecessary, strange rules. The staff weren’t polite at all. The restaurant was the worst meal we had in all of Italy: nothing tasted good, the food was overpriced, portions were small, and it was incredibly awful.

The bungalow wasn’t very clean and could do with some refurbishing. The small pools are only for bathing, with play discouraged for safety reasons. The restaurant felt messy and expensive, and the half-board meals were limited in both quantity and quality. Takeaway pizza seemed to get priority over seated diners, so be ready to wait. Bottled water cost €2, and I’m afraid it was tap water from a fountain. The served buffet breakfast is a good idea for avoiding waste, but painfully slow. We stayed for a week in a bungalow with half board. The beach was nice, easy to reach, and perfect for kids, and all the facilities were close at hand.
