Villa Vittoria

The staff were great and very helpful, and I had a pleasant, comfortable stay in a clean room. We arrived by car at 1:30 in the morning for a two-night visit, as arranged, and someone met us with the key and explained how the key card operated the main gate. We had the large La Stanza della Mimosa room. It was tidy, with a big comfortable bed and an en-suite shower. Some tiles were missing grout, but everything was clean and worked well. In the morning, the view over the sea and harbour was wonderful. Breakfast was plentiful: pastry, muffins, cereal, toast, biscuits, yoghurt, and coffee. The Wi-Fi password wasn’t in the information guide, so we had to wait until breakfast to get it. The signal in the room was patchy, and I ended up sitting outside to use it. When it rained, I had to go to reception for a video call. The hotel is about a ten-minute walk from the train station, but it’s uphill, and around fifteen minutes on foot from the old town. There are lots of cafes and restaurants there for a break while exploring. The town is picturesque, with cobbled lanes, passages, plenty of steps on the hill, and great sea views toward the Tremiti islands. The beach looked clean and tidy, though I regret not walking on it. I planned to go when heading to the station, but it rained in the afternoon. I checked out at 5:30 on the second morning and had picked up a takeaway breakfast the evening before. It came with two sandwiches, four biscuits, a muffin, and an orange. Check-out was easy: I locked the room and left the keys as instructed.
