The mixed grill and antipasti platter were excellent. It’s a fun working farm, too, with plenty of livestock for the kids to look at.

A relaxing place.

The view over Lake Martignano was lovely, but the cost put me off. For two adults and two children, we paid €7.50 each for a plastic hammock and a table under the trees. Sun loungers cost another €2.50 apiece. I came to this beach for the first time with my family, and I won't be coming back to Sabaudia at those prices.

The kiosk had a decent range of food, ice cream, and coffee, but service was slow and disorganized. When it gets busy, there are queues for both food and coffee, people cut in, and arguments start. Getting to the beach also means taking a dusty 10-minute dirt road, so expect to wash your car afterward. The entrance alone is €10 on holidays, with loungers costing extra. You can sit in the shade of the trees without an umbrella, but there isn't really a beach, just a lawn leading to the water. The lake bottom is very muddy for the first 2-3 meters, and your legs can sink up to your knees when you step in. Some people may not mind that, but others will. The private beach on Lake Martignano is beautiful, though the price feels high for what you get, given all these drawbacks.
