B&B Villa Giovanni

The place is clean and has a wonderful pool, and Simona is a great host.

The food at breakfast was a problem: there were dead larvae in the cereal, the cookies on the table tasted like dust, and the lady didn't refill the tea. When we tried, we had to heat water in a plastic cup in the microwave. Toilet paper wasn't replenished either. There was hair and dirt everywhere, and the whole hotel smelled strongly of fungus masked with air freshener. The combined smell was awful. The owner's dogs also kept us from sleeping. The distance listed on Booking is inaccurate. Rome is actually 20 km away, and it's impossible to get there without a car. Communication was very difficult, too. We told the lady in advance we'd be late, but she charged us 60 euros. Breakfast was included, but this was still a terrible experience. I don't recommend it. Avoid this place!

I didn't stay overnight myself, but I went along with someone I know. The garden and pool were completely neglected, with insects and dirt in the pool. I wouldn't swim in it. Inside, there was a terrible musty smell, with dust and hair everywhere, and the room hadn't been cleaned or made up at all. This was a nightmare. The health department should inspect the place. They shouldn't charge people and treat guests this way, with no amenities. I wouldn't stay here, even for free. It's shameful that they call it a B&B or advertise the rooms.

Management is very courteous, but the place needs a little more maintenance and cleanliness. Breakfast would be better served in single portions instead of leaving open jars of Nutella. I'm not sure how the person before me handled it. A few small changes could make this perfect.
