Resort La Rocchetta

Once we found the hotel, it was a calm oasis. It took us a couple of tries to locate the actual resort, and the last couple of kilometres of our pilgrimage route were along a fast main road. The welcome made up for the search: the staff were helpful and gave us useful information about the local area and the best route into Rome.

This family-run place feels like a home away from home. It’s in a very good location, though sadly far from the noisy traffic, and feels like a hidden gem. The rooms are elegant and cozy, the breakfast is delicious, and the staff are very attentive. There’s a large parking area too, which makes it a perfect place to stay in Rome, especially if you have a car.

Surrounded by trees, La Rocchetta gave us a peaceful place to recover after a long, hot stage of the Via Francigena. Our room was spotless, cool, and comfortable, with everything we needed. Breakfast the next morning was generous and delicious, and the staff sorted out our luggage transfers and travel details without hesitation. We arrived aching and ready to collapse, but the staff’s warm, kind welcome lifted our spirits. We were very grateful for their hospitality and care. It had the rest and comfort a pilgrim hopes for at the end of a demanding day. Highly recommended for people walking the Via Francigena or visiting the area.

The place has a modern, cozy feel and is nicely furnished. The staff at La Rocchetta were friendly and professional, and I had an amazing stay. Breakfast especially impressed me: they knew I was vegan and brought me a vegan croissant and yogurt without me having to ask. I’ve never had that kind of thoughtfulness at a hotel before. I wish more places treated their vegan guests with the same care. Thanks to all the staff!
