Villa Smeraldo

I slept really well, with no noise at night, and the mattress was excellent. The room was clean too. Mrs. Lilia was very kind and suggested places for dinner, and I had a great time during my one-night stay. Just remember this isn't a hotel, so there’s no bar or restaurant on site. You’ll need to get breakfast at a bar and bring your own water, but you’ll have the essentials.

We’d stayed here a few years ago and had a good experience, but this visit was very different. The room smelled bad, and there was no hot water. When we mentioned it, the owner said the boiler was broken and bad weather had kept the solar panels from heating the water, so she couldn’t do anything. I don’t think that’s an acceptable answer. Hot water is the bare minimum in a hotel or B&B. Don’t book until the issue is fixed. That’s why I’m leaving a negative review.

The area has lots of villas and is very quiet. Our room was large and clean, and the owner was warm and friendly. She provided a coffee machine with pods and some breakfast snacks. The one drawback was the shower: the boiler is far from the room, so we had to leave the water running for at least 10 minutes before it got hot.

A wonderful house with every comfort, kept spotless and in excellent condition. The owner is a delight, extremely kind and helpful, and there’s parking available. It’s surrounded by nature and very close to the Rome Fair, which makes it ideal if you’re going to an event there. Great value for money. We’ll be back.
