Living Rome Ottaviano

Someone stole all the money for our trip from our luggage during the day. The door was locked, and we had kept the key secure. We called the police, but unfortunately we didn't get the money back.

For $259 USD, the three of us had a very comfortable four-night stay, with excellent Wi-Fi and a spotless private bathroom with towels. The location is superb. Ottaviano metro station is four minutes away on foot, restaurants are a one-minute walk, and the laundromat is eight minutes away. Vatican City and St. Peter's Basilica are a 12-minute walk, with shops and cafes nearby. There's no kitchen, but there's a shared microwave outside the rooms. In the room we had a coffee maker, a fridge stocked with bottled water, juice, and milk, and sweet bread for breakfast. There's also a small breakfast bar with space for two. It was quiet, family-friendly, and had a view of the street or a traditional Italian neighborhood. From Ottaviano, it's six stops, no more than 17 minutes, to Termini, where you can catch trains around Italy, the Leonardo Express to Leonardo da Vinci Airport, or a bus to Ciampino Airport. My only complaint was the shower water, which never got really hot. Otherwise, it's an excellent spot for a medium or long stay in Rome.

The organization was poor. They gave us the wrong room, so we had to move. The rooms were sparsely and badly furnished. Breakfast was missing something every day, and in the end there was no milk and only one coffee pod per person. I wouldn't recommend it, especially since it isn't cheap.

We had a triple room with a private bathroom accessed from the room. It was beautifully decorated, clean, and very quiet thanks to the thick outside walls. There are also two rooms with external bathrooms, but that shouldn't worry you, since the hallway is just for access and isn't used for eating. The place is close to the Vatican, in a quiet, safe area, five minutes from the red line metro station, so you can reach the center quickly. We felt great there, and the quality for the price was good.
