The octopus salad was the standout for me, fresh and delicious, and the pasta was properly al dente with a good-sized portion. The menu has plenty of choices, though the particular bottle of wine we wanted was sold out. We went on a Sunday, when finding an open restaurant nearby was quite difficult. The involtini di pesce spada disappointed me: they were tiny and filled with some random cheese. The seasonal fruit was bitter, which was a letdown after such a good starter. For a family-oriented restaurant that often gets large groups, the quality needs to stay consistent, especially for main dishes. Fresh, ripe seasonal fruit would also make the meal better for everyone.

The pizza is really good, and it's worth booking a table. The crust is doughy without being too thick, and the sauce is rich and flavorful, with soft, stringy cheese. It's often full, so you can't just drop in for dinner after the beach. You might beat the rush by arriving early, but it does mean getting there quite early. Takeaway pizzas, or ones ordered to go, are smaller than the ones served there. You need to book or order takeaway to get a table, which shows how popular it is, but the crowds can be a downside.

We were in Sicily on a short holiday from Tuscany and went to this Rometta restaurant for an evening centered on mussels. We had a great time, with excellent food, generous portions, and friendly staff. I'd gladly repeat the experience. Highly recommended!

The service made the visit less relaxing. Even with a reservation, we waited about 30 minutes to be seated, and the dishes took a long time to arrive. There seemed to be just one person in the dining room handling customers and orders, which left things chaotic. The food was average overall. I especially liked the well-presented, tasty fried food and the "La Lanterna" appetizer, but the couscous had a distinct flavor I didn't enjoy, so I wouldn't recommend it. The restaurant has potential, though the organization brings down the experience. I'd choose somewhere else for now, at least until the service improves.
