We can't keep trampling around in our own homes. Guests need to be taught the basics, at the very least: animal waste belongs in the proper bins, never in flowerbeds or private green spaces.

We only stayed long enough to have lunch before leaving the deposit behind and asking for part of our money back. The photos we'd been sent gave a misleading impression. I'd booked the ground-floor apartment for two weeks because the woman assured me it would work for two older people who struggle with stairs. Instead, the courtyard felt like a hole, and both bedrooms were cave-like, with windows about the size of A4 paper. It was cold and damp enough that we had to put the heating on. The kitchen was the one bright, spacious room.
A small, charming apartment in a peaceful Italian village, with mountain views and vegetable gardens right nearby.
I’m still here, and this place really is enchanting. If you’re into the mountains but also want the option of a swim in the lake, it’s a great fit. The lake is a few kilometres away, but the views make the drive a pleasure.
The owners were so friendly and helpful, and the apartment was peaceful and clean. The kitchen could use a little more, maybe a chopping board and another wine glass :) Otherwise, we had a great stay.
