Agriturismo la Fontaccia

The patio and bedroom had a great view, and our room was spacious and comfortable. We spent seven wonderful days at La Fontaccia, and Samuele went out of his way to make things work for us. He knows the area well and gave us loads of helpful tips. We got to see the weather in every mood, from warm sunshine to soft rain and thunderstorms. When it’s available, I’d really recommend the Tuscan home-style dinner Elisabetta prepares. Watching the sun go down behind the hills over that meal is hard to beat, and the food could rival a restaurant. The charcuterie platter is a great alternative too, carefully put together. There are tasty local wines to buy as well. We felt like part of their lovely family.

The farm was a real joy, and we loved taking in the scenery. Samuel also helped our group of six plan trips to Sienna and Florence. The dinner there is a must. Samuel and Elisabetta took such good care of us, and I can’t recommend any other place.

The views and nature were the best part for us, along with the kind hosts, Samuele and Elisabetta. They were always glad to help, share recommendations nearby and farther afield, and explain a little about the region. The location is pleasantly quiet and a bit remote, which adds to its charm. Our room/apartment was well equipped with what we needed, and the breakfasts were very good. The optional dinner was good too. We didn’t try the cold cuts, but I’m sure they’re good as well. Five out of five, would recommend. We’ll be back to explore more of this beautiful part of Italy.

Samuele and Elisabetta were wonderful hosts, and their tips about local places were always useful. We spent a few days in Rufina and were happy with everything. The agriturismo sits in a lovely spot overlooking the valley, and the rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast was great, and dinner was delicious, so I’d definitely suggest taking the chance to eat there. La Fontaccia is a lovely place for a restful stay in this beautiful part of Tuscany.
