All the kindness and peace of mind you gave me on my 44th birthday meant a lot. Thanks, and see you again soon.

Surrounded by greenery and really beautiful. It's a pity you can only see it from outside, since it's closed and doesn't look inhabited.

The Santa Maria degli Angeli Hostel has brought hospitality to a place with a deep history. The former monks' rooms are now lovely guest rooms, and there's a first-rate restaurant too. A local entrepreneur secured permission from the ecclesiastical authorities a few years ago to manage the convent, apart from the church. Religious activity carried on, and this new hospitality venture opened alongside it. The convent is the home of Santa Maria Degli Angeli, held in true devotion by people throughout the Volturno Valley and beyond. It's ancient, and for decades it went through abandonment, crisis, and decline. Set in a breathtakingly scenic spot, its natural beauty rivals that of similar places. The facility isn't large, but with such a beautiful setting and the beloved convent's history, success seems inevitable.
