The breakfast was enormous, and the espresso was genuinely good too. It’s a nice little hotel, kept clean, with helpful staff and a pleasant atmosphere. The food and drinks were great.

The staff were lovely, and one of the men brought our dog some water without being asked, which we really appreciated. We booked ahead just in case, since the restaurant doesn’t have many seats, and went for dinner as a couple with our dog. It’s dog friendly and there are toilets for customers. The menu’s smaller than at other places we’ve tried, but there was enough choice. The food was good and the portions seemed fair for the price. The wine was on the expensive side, ours cost €40 a bottle. We had two starters, two second courses, a dessert, coffee and an amaro, and spent €106 in total. We parked nearby after crossing a wooden bridge in town. The walk up to the restaurant is a bit steep, so anyone using a wheelchair or with a disability may want to call ahead and check.

We always make a stop here when we’re heading over the Grand St. Bernard pass. It’s a charming little hotel in a burgh that feels as if time has stood still. The barman was so nice and helpful, and we had an interesting chat with him. The coffee and hot chocolate were great, and the peach cake was divine.

The hosts were so attentive to every detail, and the accommodation was spotless and comfortable. We had a lovely overnight stay at la Suisse, with delicious food and great prices. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely come back. A big thank you to our hosts. Bill and alba Tunnicliffe xxx

The village is charming, and the hotel is cozy and well run, with staff who are all very kind and helpful. The restaurant serves great homemade food using typical local ingredients. It’s a good place to stay whether you’re stopping on the way to Gran San Bernardo or spending longer here for skiing at Crevacol or summer hikes. For backcountry skiing, the location is strategic too: you can ski off-piste down to the hotel from the top of Crevacol’s slopes, just below the Gran San Bernardo.
