The breakfast was a highlight, with a good range and lots of vegetarian and gluten free choices. Parking was plentiful, and the staff were kind and polite. The indoor spa was pleasant, though very hot, and I liked that children weren’t allowed in the afternoon and evening. It would be nice if it stayed open later. Staff there were very helpful. We booked a junior suite, which was spacious for two people and our luggage, with a large shower. The bed was rock hard, so we didn’t sleep well. If you like a softer bed, I’d suggest bringing an extra layer to sleep on. The air conditioning didn’t seem to make any difference. We didn’t use the outdoor area. After paying 300 euro a night, being asked to pay extra to use the outdoor pool felt pretty ridiculous. Larger bathrobes would help too, since you’re expected to change in your room and arrive wearing one. A robe that’s too small can be embarrassing. Letting guests change at the spa would be another solution. It was an okay stay. Maybe we’d return.

The hotel is beautiful, especially with the mountains all around, and it was particularly lovely in fall. We’ve stayed twice, once in 2020 and again a few weeks ago. The rooms were very nice and clean, and both breakfast and the restaurant food were excellent. Service has been hit or miss, though mostly great at reception and in the restaurant, apart from one or two people. One man at the front desk was really helpful with information about easy hikes nearby, and the man in the spa was kind. I’m sorry I’ve forgotten both their names.

We had lunch in the hotel restaurant, but the menu had very few choices, so I ended up picking the fish. The serving was tiny, and it was just little bits of something I couldn’t identify, almost like poison or acid. I couldn’t eat it, but my friend still had to pay for it.

We came for a jazz concert, and this place is great for that. Naima Faraó was spectacular.
