We were given Italian chocolates and hugs when we left, and the owner even got up early to make breakfast before our early checkout. That kind of care made the stay a real experience. The owners were very considerate, though the place was quite different from anywhere we've stayed before. The rooms are large and have a bath, walk in robe, balcony, and WiFi. We could use the lounge, kitchen, and sitting room too. Breakfast was a huge, delicious homemade spread. It's in a tiny town, but still close to Bologna and the airport. Pietro's taverna is nearby, serving excellent, humble Italian food.

Martina and Luca made us feel so welcome, and breakfast was a real highlight: homemade cheesecake and croissants alongside prosciutto, cheese, and cappuccino. The cozy, clean rooms have a lovely atmosphere and look like a real castle. They were beautiful and warm, too. A great place to stay when visiting Emilia Romagna, close to Bologna airport and Modena.

The windows aren't soundproof, so we could hear planes until 1am. They seemed to stop by 6am, though I may finally have fallen asleep and stopped noticing them. 😃 Still, Martina's breakfast was a real standout. Along with the salami, cheese, fruit, and other things, she had freshly baked cakes, croissants, and sweets that were still warm from the oven. Highly recommended at Ca'stello23!

We had a comfortable, cozy room and a great host. The mansion has been refurbished with real taste, and its quiet spot beside the golden grain fields was lovely. Breakfast was awesome.
