B&B Acquamarine

Such a nice B&B. I would've rated it 5 stars, but there wasn't any hot water in the shower.

It was a clean, fairly normal place for a few nights, and not too far from the center if a 20-30 minute walk is fine with you. I only stayed 3 of the 5 nights I'd rented, due to circumstances, and even though I let them know ahead of time, they didn't refund the difference. The included breakfast was just crackers, Nutella, jam, a croissant, and coffee, all in limited amounts. I had to adjust to the noise: the house is next to the road, and traffic could be heard outside the window even when it was closed. I was disappointed to get the worst room in the hotel, with a window facing the road. At least the bathroom window gave a partial sea view.

Check-in was easy, and the place was clean, with a towel for each of us and four welcome drinks in the fridge. Still, I found the stay very disappointing. We booked four nights but left after one, and I can only give it 2/5, though it feels closer to 1/5. The location was the main problem. The accommodation is between a highway and a main road, directly opposite a container port. Trucks, motorcycles, and cars sped past day and night, and we couldn't sleep even with the windows shut. I don't understand how its Airbnb rating is almost five stars. We were also unexpectedly asked for €18 a day in cash on arrival. Breakfast was advertised, but our four breakfasts amounted to five individually wrapped croissants and two rusks, not even enough for all four days.

The view was spectacular, and the place was beautiful and new. They'd thought of all the comforts, from the coffee machine and mini-bar to water, jams, and Nutella. There was even a fresh recipe for breakfast, so we didn't find anything missing.
