B&B Civico 41 Salerno

Just a short distance from the sea.

The owner was so kind and helpful, with tips on where to eat and an explanation of how the public beach works. Several bars and restaurants are within walking distance, and the location is great, though it's not central enough to really experience authentic Salerno. The B&B looks out over the sea, and the rooms are tidy and clean, with all the comforts we needed: a TV, air conditioning, hairdryer, first aid kit, and more. One thing to watch for is the parking lot the owner points you to. It's difficult to find unless you know the area. Breakfast comes as a voucher for a drink and one item of your choice, such as a brioche, panzerotto, or saccottino, rather than a buffet. I highly recommend it.

The owner gives you a warm welcome and is really helpful. The location is great, and the rooms are clean and basic. You can hear things through the room soundproofing, which could be better.

Civico 41 worked well for our two nights in Salerno, since we wanted to see the city and spend some time on the beach in the nice weather. It sits between the beaches south of town and the city center to the north, and there's free parking nearby. We had everything we needed in the room, including a coffee maker and access to a refrigerator. The hostess and her daughter were very kind and offered useful advice.
