B&B La Garçonniere

We spent two nights at this bed and breakfast in Salerno's historic center. The room was quiet, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the owner was generous and attentive to what guests needed. The atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming, and the value for money was excellent. We had such a good time. Recommended!

The room was lovely, clean, and friendly, and everything was within walking distance. We spent two nights here and know where we'll stay on our next trips to Salerno.

We had a great time here, and the location is hard to beat. You're right in the middle of the city, with a five-minute walk to CarefourExpress, a grocery store with a wide range of products. Cafes for breakfast are just outside and on nearby streets. The train station is ten minutes away on foot, the ferry port twenty minutes. Lido Aurora, the best beach, takes 30 minutes to walk to or 15 minutes by bus. In 2023, the ticket cost only 1.2 EURO. In the evening you can hear people eating and strolling around, but that gentle city noise wasn't disturbing. The apartment's romantic vintage style is charming. The room and bed are both huge, and two separate air conditioners can cool or heat the place. The host welcomed us with extra towels and snacks, and stocked the fridge with mineral water. We appreciated the restaurant recommendations and the ferry and bus timetables and prices. The owner was always available on WhatsApp and replied quickly, even to questions unrelated to the accommodation. During our 8-night stay, we also got a complimentary extra cleaning, scheduled in advance for a time when we weren't in the apartment. The shower gel and soaps smelled lovely and seemed good quality. There are some things to improve. The WiFi doesn't work in the bedroom, and there's no TV there either. There's no kitchen, sink, or coffee maker, and no cutlery. The shower cabin is small. The kettle couldn't be used because it was badly scaled, and the cleaning could be more thorough. The fan was so dusty it seemed like it could slowly become a fire hazard, and needs vacuuming after each guest. The limescale filter on the bathroom faucet needs descaling too, because the water splashes onto the furniture and, as you can see, ruins it. Feel free to book. You'll have a great time!

Pretty much perfect, nothing to complain about. The only thing missing is shutters on the windows.
