Luxury Manfredi Apartment Salerno

I’m writing this so others considering the apartment know what happened. I stayed for four nights with my family after booking through Air BnB. I left a three-star review there, honest feedback that I hoped might help people with needs like ours, especially since we have a daughter. It wasn’t glowing, but it was far from negative. After it went live, the owner sent me abusive private messages, calling me a liar and untruthful and saying I should “be more careful in the future.” She said my bad communication led her to enter the apartment, but I have messages confirming I told her checkout would be at 8:30am. When I sent that evidence, she ignored it and kept calling me untruthful. She also made that accusation in her public Air BnB response and claimed I had “only complimented the hospitality they received,” which wasn’t true. The assistant who checked us in and the hospitality during our stay were well below what I’ve experienced with other hosts. I didn’t include that in my original review, but given her behavior, maybe I should have. I expect the owner will reply by calling me untruthful again or saying I’m out to get her. I’m simply sharing this for future guests. After a wonderful trip to Italy, I didn’t need the slander and abuse. A simple apology and acknowledgment that this wasn’t Superhost behavior, along with a promise to improve, would have gone over much better than blaming me. If you rent this apartment, be prepared for the aftermath if you say anything negative. In my Air BnB review, I said the apartment was spacious and clean and the beds were comfortable, but the water pressure was poor, so don’t expect a good shower. Street noise was very loud and kept us awake several nights. A bar or restaurant below played loud music until 12pm, and there were fireworks too. Garbage trucks emptied rubbish around 5-6am, waking us most mornings. We also felt rushed out. Checkout was listed as 10am, and the day before I was asked when we’d leave; I replied 8:30am. At 8:15am the owner knocked, then came in with a man carrying cleaning items, made themselves at home, and spoke Italian, which we didn’t understand. We felt awkward, left, and waited downstairs. It would have been polite to wait for us to exit before coming in.
